Ellii Exit Test (Autograded)
Assessment Tools
Ready to check your students' gains since the last time they took the Ellii Placement Test? The Ellii Exit Test can be used for a variety of reasons and needs, including to check English proficiency in reading, listening, and grammar at the end of a term or program. The Ellii Exit Test can also be used as an alternative version to the Ellii Placement Test (autograded) to prevent cheating or to offer extra practice with assessments.
Note: The Ellii Exit Test and Ellii Placement Test were designed with the same number and type of multiple-choice questions at a similar level of difficulty.
The Ellii Exit Test (autograded) has 30 multiple-choice questions and is divided into 3 sections:
Part 1: Listening (3 recordings, 9 questions)
Part 2: Grammar (12 questions)
Part 3: Reading (3 readings, 9 questions)
Students have 30 minutes to complete the test and can listen to the audio files twice for each listening question. For the most accurate scoring, please encourage students to skip questions they can't answer rather than guessing.
Score Range = Ellii Level
0–3% = Pre Beg
4–17% = Low Beg
18–40% = High Beg
41–63% = Low Int
64–83% = High Int
84–97% = High Int – Adv
98–100% = Adv
The score and suggested level will help you decide which Ellii materials to use with your students. The type of level you see will be based on the settings you have set up on your Account page (Ellii, CLB, CEFR, ELD, NRS). A percentage score will also be shown. Please consult our Equivalency Scale for more information.
